Add Value to Relationships with Frequency of Communication

One of the first things I ask my clients to do is initiate a regular communication schedule with their clients, prospective clients and evangelists.  This frequency of communication establishes a foundation of trust for the relationship.  This video explains this concept in detail.

Frequency of communication builds trust, I’ve been saying that for years and I’ve been sending out a weekly email to everyone on my list. So people in my world, folks who’ve come to events that I’ve produced, folks who have seen me speak and have asked me for more information, people who are my clients, sometimes my best clients, they get email from me on a weekly basis. Well, that’s not good enough. Think about it this way, if you and I were friends and I only talked to you once a week, would we be friends? Yeah, we’d probably be friends but we wouldn’t be really good friends. Think about your best friend, or think about the relationship that’s most important to you in your life. That person, or those people, you communicate with even more frequently than that. You probably communicate with them daily, or several times a day, or maybe even hourly, or maybe you can’t stand to be more than two or three feet away from that person.

Well, I want to deepen my relationship with you. I want us to have a relationship that’s built on a foundation of trust. So here’s what I’m doing, here’s the commitment that I’m making. I’m going to carry with me my phone and a video camera, and I’m going to communicate with you this way on a more frequent basis. My hope is to do it at least daily, but maybe even several times a day. As I think of something great to say, think of something that you can use in your business to grow your revenue, or something you can use to be more productive, or a way that you can employ leverage, anything I can think of that’s going help add value to your life, I’m going to share with you more frequently.

Now, here’s the other thing. You’ve heard me say over and over again that social media is good for some things but not good for others. Well, this is a great way to use social media. So I’m going to take the videos that I’m producing for you, our communication each day, and I’m going to put them all the different forms of social media. There are gurus out there who tell you that you should only use one method of social media for video communication, or you should only put your method of communication on one platform and force everybody to go to that platform to find it. I don’t think that’s true. I want to get my message out to as many people as possible, so here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to take these videos and I’m going to put them on all different platforms, as many platforms as I can, as many times as I can, each day, each week, and each month.

So you can look for videos like this, first and foremost they’re all going to go on my website, davelorenzo.com, my name, davelorenzo.com. Go there, click on the Articles tab, right at the top of the page or at the bottom of the page. Click on the Video tab at the top of the page or at the bottom of the page. You can also find me on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I’m going to be all over the place, I want to communicate with you as much as possible because I want a relationship with you that’s valuable to you and, of course, that’s valuable to me. So I’m going to provide value here, using this platform, and I’m going to provide value to you as many times as I can each week, each day, each month.

Look for these videos all over the place, write me comments. Comments on YouTube, comments on Facebook, Tweet at me, comments on Instagram. Tell me what you want to hear about more often, more frequently. Tell me what your biggest concern is, what’s your biggest headache, what are your goals. I want to help you achieve them and I’m going to do that in the best way that I can, and that’s through communicating with you with more frequency. Frequency of communication builds trust, frequency of communication builds relationships. I want a relationship with you, so I’m going to keep trying to add value to your life, to your business, this way. Until next time, I’m Dave Lorenzo, and I’ll see you right here, online, building value in our relationship.
